Award-winning journalist and broadcaster, Naga is known and loved nationwide as one of the main presenters on Breakfast TV. She is a journalist who has interviewed politicians, Prime Ministers and high-profile personalities on TV and radio, always applying rigour while still constantly bearing in mind the needs of her audience. Naga was named by the Asian Power List as one of the UK’s most powerful Asian females. 

Elizabeth Uviebinené

CEO & FOUNDER, STORIA 

Elizabeth Uviebinené is a multi-award-winning author, Columnist and founder of Storia: a new journaling app helping people organise their thoughts away from the noise of life. In 2023, she became one of the few black women to raise VC funding. Elizabeth has published five books, including her critically acclaimed bestseller Slay In Your Lane.

Scott Mackin

Professionally, Scott is a private equity investor in energy-transition related infrastructure companies. Personally, Scott is an active investor both as an angel and as an LP in emerging and established VC’s. He has invested in over one dozen VC’s, the majority being women or minority led emerging managers.

Jo is Director at Culture Consultancy, an award-winning agency that helps SMEs to maximise growth by evolving & transforming their culture. Prior to this, Jo was Head of HR at Goldman Sachs France and Switzerland and has 16 years’ experience working in leadership development and behavioural change for various investment banks across the globe.

 

Dr Yvonne Thompson CBE Dl

  Software engineer by trade, Fergus develops the school’s digital infrastructure. In 2022 he became manager of LSE’s Male Allies programme. His first role was to speak at LSE staff induction events, with a view to recruiting new starters to the School’s main gender equality network, LSE Power. 

 

Mildred Talabi MCIPR

LINKEDIN VISIBILITY AND PERSONAL BRANDING COACH FOUNDER OF VISIBLE WOMEN TRIBE

Mildred Talabi has spent the last decade mastering the art of personal branding in both her career and business. She trained as a journalist and worked in the media, before transitioning into PR and communications. Along the way, Mildred started several businesses, authored four books. She is a recognised LinkedIn Influencer, with over 50,000 followers, and the founder of Visible Women Tribe – a global membership community for women in business and leadership.

Eva-Maria Dimitriadis

MANAGING PARTNER, THE CONDUIT CONNECT

Eva-Maria Dimitriadis is Managing Partner and CEO of Conduit Connect Ltd, a leading impact investment platform for mission driven investors to find sustainable investment opportunities. Eva is originally Greek, born in London, grew up in Zimbabwe and has an MA (Oxon) in PPP from Oxford University. She mentors a number of startups and is passionate about empowering female founders and investors.  

Claire Fox

COACH, CONSULTANT, AND LEADER, AND THE AUTHOR OF ‘WORK-LIFE SYMBIOSIS 

Claire is a highly acclaimed transformational coach, consultant, and leader, and the author of ‘Work-Life Symbiosis: The Model for Happiness and Balance’. She is an expert in the field of leadership, people, organisation and culture. Prior to setting up Claire Fox Coaching and Consulting, Claire had significant impact in roles including Chief Operating Officer at UNICEF UK and Chief People Officer at Save the Children, as well as in a number of local, European and global HR Director roles for Unilever. Claire competed for Great Britain for several years as a white-water slalom canoeist, has competed in triathlons and marathons and plays competitive tennis.

Dr Samantha Tross

CONSULTANT ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEON

 

Miss Samantha Tross is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon practicing in London.  When appointed in 2005, she became the first black female to become a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in the UK and the was subsequently first woman in Europe to perform Mako robotic hip surgery. Miss Tross is passionate about increasing diversity in Surgery and has worked towards this her whole career. She has spoken nationally and Internationally on the topic. Her efforts have been recognised with numerous awards including a Black British Business Award. She is Guyanese born.

Tom Groom

PARTNER, STRATEGY & TRANSACTIONS, EY

Tom leads EY’s financial services strategy and transactions practice – a team that supports banks, insurers, wealth and asset managers, and private equity in the strategy and M&A goals.  He is also the Treasurer, and a Trustee, of Mummy’s Star (a charity that supports women diagnosed with cancer in, or around, pregnancy), and is a coach at a local cricket club, all alongside being a taxi driver to his 3 children.

Joanna Newark

SENIOR DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS AVON INTERNATIONAL

 

Joanna is responsible for all areas of communications across Avon’s 30+ markets outside of North and South America. Before joining Avon, Joanna was at Gap for 20 years in a variety of roles including store management, operations and lastly leading internal communications for the brand. Joanna is a breast cancer survivor and shares her story with others to offer support and hope. 

Dr Ama Frimpong

HEAD OF PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT,  52 NORTH HEALTH LTD

Ama is Head of Product Development at 52 North Health Ltd, where she leads the company’s engineering teams. She is a multi-award-winning engineer including being named the 2022 Young Woman Engineer of the Year by the Institution of Engineering and Technology and Top 50 Women in Engineering (Inventors and Innovators) by the Women’s Engineering Society. She has spent her career at the forefront of healthcare innovations making significant contributions to the technical development of a wide range of products and processes.

We have run a hugely successful programme of online events over the last three years leading our loyal network of amazing women and male allies to all say the same thing – that they want to come together for a full-day, live event.

The event will be held in London for 200 members, with expert speakers, curated sessions, and unique experiences to create connections that matter. We will continue connecting like-minded professional – men and women – who are as passionate as we are about supporting women in their careers. Nurture Network Live strives to connect underrepresented people with people of influence who can inspire, strengthen their leadership, and bring others along with them.

Two inspiring women from the worlds of healthcare discuss their senior roles in the healthcare world and how they racked up a series of awards and impressive firsts in their respective fields. Dr Samantha Tross, consultant orthopaedic surgeon was both the first female of Afro Caribbean descent to become a consultant surgeon and the first woman in Europe to perform Mako robotic hip surgery. At 33, Dr Ama Frimpong was named Young Female Engineer of the Year and one of the Top 50 Women in Engineering for her work as Head of Product Development at 52 North Health where she leads on the design of new medical devices.

KPMG’s 2020 Women’s Leadership Summit report – Advancing the Future of Women in Business – found that an overwhelming 75% of executive women reported experiencing Imposter Syndrome at some point in their career. Female Ted Talk speaker Amy Cuddy famously spoke about the value of “faking it till you make it”. This session would explore what Imposter Syndrome is and whether it is necessarily a bad thing. Can self-doubt make you a better leader? How important are authenticity and vulnerability in the modern workplace? Is it now a safe space for women to share any insecurities?

Sheryl Sandberg famously spoke of careers no longer being ladders, but “jungle gyms”, which can go in all sorts of directions. This session would explore the pros and cons of allowing your career to develop in an informal and organic way, versus climbing the traditional corporate ladder. We finish the day by sitting down for an inspiring chat with award-winning journalist and broadcaster, Naga Munchetty. From her early career and getting her big break, to dealing with criticism for simply doing her job – we’ll talk about the big challenges she has faced in broadcasting. We’ll also hear a little about her personal life – from coping with her painful condition, adenomyosis – which isn’t talked about despite affecting one in five women. And how she unwinds – swinging clubs on the golf course.
