Tell us about your breakthrough career moment

My breakthrough career moment was marked when Beauty Cleanse Skincare received notable acclaim. The acknowledgment of being shortlisted as the next Best British Beauty Award by the British Beauty Council in collaboration with Harvey Nichols, as well as being a Natural Beauty Product Finalist for the Global Beauty Award by the Pure Beauty Global Awards, out of 800 entries spanning 40 countries worldwide, was an incredible validation. These recognitions celebrated our dedication to sustainability,  upcycling and innovation in skincare, solidifying our brand’s commitment to providing effective, nourishing, and eco-conscious beauty solutions to a global audience.

Moreover, our mission of rescuing imperfect, leftover, and misshapen superfoods from food waste, and crafting innovative skincare products that provide skin nourishment as rich as our daily greens has also been recognised globally by multiple awards and features by esteemed publications.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever had?

The best advice I ever received emphasised ignoring external judgments and staying committed to positive intentions and goals.

Have you ever felt held back as a women? How do you respond?

As a woman in business, I’ve confronted challenges rooted in societal expectations both within my family and the workplace. There was a prevailing expectation for me to pursue traditional paths like becoming a doctor or an analyst. Despite initially treading those paths to meet those expectations, I soon realised they didn’t align with my passion.

Subsequently, I broke away from those conventions, choosing to invest my energy in building and nurturing my own brand. Despite facing scepticism and conformity pressures, I embraced my entrepreneurial spirit, challenging stereotypes by showcasing that success can be achieved by following one’s passion, regardless of societal or familial norms. This journey empowered me to carve my unique path, showcasing that individualized niches and true passion can lead to a fulfilling and successful business endeavour.

How do you protect your mental health in moments of pressure?

I prioritise my wellbeing by healthy eating, adding lots of superfoods in my diet and regular breaks to recalibrate, whether through meditation, brief walks, or engaging in hobbies.

Additionally, surrounding myself with a supportive team and practicing open communication helps alleviate stress. This allows me to maintain clarity, ensuring that decisions made for the brand are not only rooted in sound business strategy but also align with my personal well-being.

Balancing these aspects is crucial for sustaining a healthy mental state and fostering a thriving business. Moreover, the 6 healthy superfood drinks that played a major role in reversing my health condition are still the part of my daily diet and they contain some of the most nutritious superfoods needed to stay active, focused and radiant. I share these hero drinks with my community in a form of a brief e-book which contains detailed recipes along with the benefits for skin and body.

The woman who empowers me is…

… Angelina Jolie.

Her commitment to humanitarian causes and relentless dedication to advocating for refugees and human rights embodies the values of compassion and hard work. Beyond her illustrious career in the film industry, Jolie’s work as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador and her efforts in various global humanitarian initiatives showcase an unwavering commitment to making a positive impact. Her resilience, compassion, and unwavering dedication to causes she believes in serve as an inspiration to me, reflecting the power of using one’s platform to drive positive change.

I feel empowered when…

… I witness conscious consumption and see individuals making responsible choices, particularly when it aligns with my brand ethos.

It’s incredibly fulfilling to encounter customers who resonate with the values behind my brand, knowing that I’m not only making a positive difference to their skin but also contributing to the well-being of our planet. Being a source of inspiration for mindful choices and witnessing that impact is truly empowering.

The world would be a better place when…

… when we buy less, buy better and think conscious consumption.

The woman who everyone should know about it…

… my mother as she has been an incredible inspiration in my journey towards a plant-based lifestyle.

Her support and encouragement gave me the courage to embrace vegan and vegetarian choices, even in a family where carnivorous diets prevailed. Her influence empowered me to follow a path aligned with my values, making a positive impact on my health and the environment. Her inspiration not only guided my shift towards a plant-based lifestyle but also laid the foundation for the creation and ethos of my brand Beauty Cleanse Skincare.

Do you have any hobbies to keep you busy in your spare time?

In addition to my skincare brand, I am also an environmental story-telling texture artist on a mission to transform discarded plastic waste into captivating artwork.

My journey is fuelled by a commitment to reducing plastic waste, raising awareness about recycling challenges, and promoting conscious consumption. Engaging in this craft provides a refreshing escape from daily routines, allowing me to rejuvenate my mind before refocusing on the development of my skincare brand.
